The Higher Institute of Fishing and Aquaculture of Bizerte "ISPA-Bizerte" was established on September 22, 2003. Its missions include:
- Offering training to achieve a degree in "Halieutic and Aquaculture Technologies."
- Assisting entrepreneurs and new promoters in the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
- Engaging in research and development (R&D) in the fields of fisheries and aquaculture.
- Facilitating technology transfer in the fisheries and aquaculture domain.
- Producing seedlings of bivalves for shellfish farmers.
- Enhancing scientific and technical outreach and impact.
