Farouk Kamoun
He is currently a Professor Emeritus at the National
School of Computer Science (ENSI) at the University of Manouba, Tunisia,

- Farouk Kamoun earned his engineering degree from the École Supérieure d'Électricité (Supélec) in France and both
- a Master's degree and PhD in computer science from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), USA.
ARPANET
- At UCLA, he was involved in the ARPANET project, the precursor to the Internet, focusing his research on designing large computer communication networks.

- He is currently a Professor Emeritus at the National School of Computer Science (ENSI) at the University of Manouba, Tunisia,
- a senior member of the CRISTAL research laboratory and
- scientific advisor to Sesame University.
- He is a senior member of the IEEE
- He is a co-founder and president of the African Foundation for Digital Governance for Inclusive Development (Aegid-F),
- He is at the Tunisian Association for Research and Innovation in Networks (TRINET),
- and a co-founder and former vice-president of the Internet
of Things consortium "IoT Tunisia."

- His areas of research and interest include Computer Networks, Internet of Things, Blockchain and Intelligent Transport Systems.
- He is author or co-author of more than two hundred publications in scientific journals and conferences
- F. Kamoun is an international expert on policy and strategy in the ICT, education, digital transformation, and Science, Technology, and Innovation sectors.
- His interests include Smart Cities, the Internet of Things, Blockchain Applications and Digital Transformation.
- He is a senior member of the IEEE and has served as president of the Tunisian Internet Governance Forum.
Previously
He has held numerous leadership roles in various institutions, including serving as
- the head of the IT department at the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis,
- Chairman of the Board, and CEO of the National Center for Informatics (CNI), where he played a key role in promoting IT in Tunisia and developing IT applications for the Tunisian Administration.
- He has also served as the Dean of National School of Computer Science, University of Manouba, as Director of the CRISTAL research Lab,
- and, more recently, as the President of the Board and Dean of Sesame University.
- he has served as president of the Tunisian Internet
Governance Forum.
